Lawyers from the law firm Sołtysiński Kawecki & Szlęzak advised Eurocash S.A. in connection with the sale of 100% of the shares in PayUp Polska S.A. to Centrum Rozliczeń Elektronicznych Polskie ePłatności S.A. The preliminary share sale agreement was concluded on 27 September 2018.
The Voivodship Administrative Court in Warsaw dismissed complaints against decisions of the Patent Office of the Republic of Poland which annulled rights from registration of industrial designs for bunk beds. The judgments of the VAC in Warsaw represent yet another stage in the complex dispute between furniture producers concerning designs for bunk beds.

Recently, a draft amendment has been published by the Ministry of Finance, including but not limited to, the Income Tax Acts and the Tax Ordinance Act. One of the proposed changes involves modification of principles to collect the so called tax at source (WHT) on domestic and cross border dividends, and also on cross border interest, royalties and intangible services related payments. The amendment provides for some restrictions that impede application of exemptions and reduced rates to payments of WHT.

SK&S was awarded first place in the 12th ranking of tax advice firms of the daily newspaper Rzeczpospolita in the category of pro bono work. The committee also gave awards for precedential tax cases won in administrative courts. The PIT category was won by a case handled by SK&S.
On 5 July 2018 Sejm (lower chamber of the Polish Parliament) has adopted the acts amending the Act on Waste and selected other acts and amending the Environmental Protection Inspectorate Act and selected other acts. The new legislation will exacerbate the formal and organizational obligations for the business entities which collect and process waste. Sanctions for failure to comply with the environmental provisions will be aggravated and extended
