Competition/antitrust
Soltysinski Kawecki & Szlezak’s Krzytsztof Kanton is representing Górażdże Cement in appeal proceedings intended to reduce a cartel fine levied against it by the PCA. He also acted for Auchan in merger control proceedings relating to its acquisition of Real Polska. Senior associate Jarosław Łukawski is also a key part of the practice.
Dispute resolution
Soltysinski Kawecki & Szlezak’s Rafał Waskiewicz is acting for SRB Civil Engineering and others in litigation against GDDKiA seeking increased remuneration for the construction of the A1 motorway. Other work includes acting for Mostostal Warszawa in a dispute with the State Treasury regarding the construction of the A4. Dariusz Skuza heads the practice.
Intellectual property
Soltysinski Kawecki & Szlezak’s specialisms include advertising, pharmaceutical patents and IT-related IP. Ewa Skrzydło-Tefelska, who is ‘a pleasure to work with’, is representing beverage manufacturer Polmos Siedlce in a copyright dispute with a movie director. Skrzydło-Tefelska co-heads the team with Szymon Gogulski.

Soltysinski Kawecki & Szlezak advised RSA on the sale of Link4 to PZU; team head Robert Gawałkiewicz was responsible for the regulatory aspects while Andrej Kawecki provided general oversight. Other mandates included advising AXA Investment Managers and Nordea Bank Polska.
Employment
Soltysinski Kawecki & Szlezak fields a team of ‘practical, proactive and considerate’ lawyers. Recent work includes acting for Koninklijke Bunge in a collective redundancy matter following the closure of a factory. International clients include Nike and Intel. Energy and natural resources
Krzysztof Cichocki heads Soltysinski Kawecki & Szlezak’s team, which advised the Ministry for the Environment on trading in CO2 emission rights, and acted for PKN Orlen on the development and renovation of its power plants.
Banking and finance
Soltysinski Kawecki & Szlezak’s lawyers are ‘knowledgeable’ and ‘go straight to the point’. Marcin Olechowski heads the team, which advised Nordea Bank Polska on its sale by Nordea Bank to PKO Bank Polski. As well as handling corporate and regulatory matters, the team also advises clients on real estate and renewable energy financings.
Real estate and construction
Soltysinski Kawecki & Szlezak advised Warsaw III during the acquisition of a PLN217m stake in the Złote Tarasy complex in Warsaw. Janusz Siekański is a key member of Radosław Waszkiewicz’s team.
