Sołtysiński Kawecki & Szlęzak has advised the firm Solaris Bus & Coach in the formation of a strategic partnership with Grupa Stadler relating to an activity on the tramway market.

The law firm Sołtysiński Kawecki & Szlęzak advised the firm Solaris Bus & Coach in the formation of a strategic partnership with Grupa Stadler regarding activity on the tramway market.

Solaris Bus & Coach is a well-known producer of buses, trolleybuses and tramways and is a family company founded by Solange and Krzysztof Olszewski. Since 1996, 12,000 vehicles have been produced in the factory in Bolechowo, near Poznań, which have been sold to 29 countries. Amongst others, it produces the Tramino trams which operate in Poznań, Olsztyń, Jena, and Brunswich.

Stadler is a Swiss firm which is one of the largest producers of rail stock in Europe. Stadler Polska is its Polish subsiduary which for 10 years now has been producing, in its factory in Siedlce, Flirt trains for PKP Intercity. It also operates on the tramway market.

The firms issued information about their planned cooperation during this year’s InnoTrans rail fair in Berlin. The news was announced by Solange Olszewska, the owner of the Polish firm, and Peter Spuhler, the President of the management board and owner of Stadler Rail.

The law firm Sołtysiński Kawecki & Szlęzak was involved in the areas of corporate law, transaction advice, and tax advice.

In the transaction, Solaris was assisted by a team of lawyers from Sołtysiński Kawecki & Szlęzak, headed by counselor Krzysztof Pawlisz, partner; and composed of: Andrzej Motyka (senior associate, attorney), Agnieszka Skowronek(associate, legal counsel), and Karol Skibniewski (associate, legal counsel). Tax issues were handled by Piotr Andrzejak, partner in the tax department, and Bartłomiej Biały (senior associate, legal counsel). Krzysztof Kanton, partner in charge of competition law, was responsible for antimonopoly issues, assisted by Grzegorz Koguciuk (associate).
