SK&S’ practice in the field of IP rights, including industrial property rights, is one of the biggest and leading practices in Poland and is made up of 19 lawyers, including 6 partners and of counsels. The IP team’s work is coordinated by Szymon Gogulski, who specializes in industrial property, advertising law, unfair competition and domain name disputes and Dr. Ewa Skrzydło-Tefelska, who specializes in patent law, trade mark law, industrial designs law, pharmaceutical law, advertising law, unfair competition and private international and European law. SK&S serves clients with its knowledge and experience as regards on-going commercial advice on all types of intellectual property. This includes:
- drafting and negotiating licensing agreements, including: software licenses, delimitation agreements, joint research agreements and intellectual property right assignment agreements
- conducting IP due diligence
- preparing IP protection analyses and strategies and
- managing trademark and design portfolios.
A significant part of SK&S’ practice consists of providing ongoing advice on marketing strategies and advertising campaigns. Members of the team have extensive experience in litigation involving all IP rights, including patents, trademarks, designs, database rights, unfair competition acts and unfair advertising practices. For many years, we have assisted the Business Software Alliance (BSA), an association of leading software producers, in its efforts to improve the observance of national software protection provisions.
We are a member of EuroITCounsel, the Global Advertising Law Alliance, the International Trademark Association and the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property.
