SK&S represented ING Bank Hipoteczny S.A. in obtaining its operating license from the Polish Financial Supervision Authority (KNF)

On 2 January 2019 the KNF unanimously permitted the start of operations by ING Bank Hipoteczny, a newly-established specialized mortgage bank. SK&S advises the Bank on legal and tax matters related to its establishment and roll-out of activities and represented the Bank in the proceedings before the KNF which have just successfully concluded.

As emphasized by Mirosław Boda, the President of the Management Board of ING Bank Hipoteczny S.A., the SK&S team played a significant role in the speedy and efficient obtaining of the permit, which enables the start of operations by the new Bank. The Bank also appreciates experience, knowledge and effectiveness of the SK&S lawyers.

The SK&S team assisting the Bank is led by partner Dr. Marcin Olechowski, the head of the firm’s banking law and financial institutions practice. Sławomir Stawczyk (Of Counsel, attorney at law) and Dr Wojciech Iwański (Senior Counsel, advocate) were responsible for coordinating the project. The team also included Borys D. Sawicki (Senior Counsel, attorney at law), Jan Pierzgalski (associate, advocate), Mateusz Blocher (associate), and Katarzyna Janczewska (associate). As regards issues related to personal data protection the Bank is advised by Agata Szeliga (partner, attorney at law) and Katarzyna Paziewska (associate, attorney at law). On tax matters the Bank is advised by Jarosław Bieroński, senior partner who heads the law firm’s tax law practice, Bartłomiej Biały (senior associate, attorney at law), Michał Brągiel (associate) and Katarzyna Juralewicz (associate).
